I wouldn’t say Beavis and Beavis and butthead flying car shirt for the time of its release. The show debuted right about the time that the twin societal vices of political correctness and the parenting paradigm of an overprotective safety culture started squeezing most of the unbridled joy out of just getting to be a kid, and particularly being a kid who wasn’t that bright. People were listening in when Beavis and Butthead watched videos and made their commentary. It got to a point where these two twits could make or break a band solely based on their “review” of a video.
